2014-15 Round 5

Sunday 01 Mar 2015
09.55
Harwell

Participating clubs may enter runners prior to the season or on-the-day, and will issue a number to their runners. Runners may not enter as individuals. The League Manager may permit a few runners who are not members of participating clubs to run "as guests" if they make a prior request in writing.

Please note - Races 7 and 8 will be held in REVERSE order; Race 8 at 11.25 and Race 7 at 12.05.

Race location

Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Harwell, hosted by Abingdon AC.

There are good directions on the RAL website: http://www.stfc.ac.uk/About+STFC/51.aspx.
Please take special note of the nature of the restricted junctions from the A34. Access is from the roundabout indicated by the red arrow on the map. The car park is shown by the black arrow and is at grid ref SU477860. Once off the A4185, follow signs to the RAL, then turn left at the second roundabout, to leave the round synchrotron building on your right. Follow this road around to the car park. See Map.
There will be a £3 charge per car for the parking.

Please note this is private land. There will be no access for runners or vehicles before 0900 on March 1st.

Please note that this year we will not have the use of the RAL Social Club due to a clash with another event - runners will not be allowed in there. We will have access to the R85 Amenity Block (access around the side and back of the Social Club) which has changing rooms and toilets. The location for the presentations is still being explored.

Could all runners refrain from using the field as a toilet. RAL had numerous complaints from local residents last year saying that hedges were being used as toilets. Similar complaints this year will result in us not being able to return. ANYONE CAUGHT WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE VENUE.

Presentations

There will be 2 ceremonies on the day; these will be 15 minutes later than in previous years to accommodate the additional race 0.
11.15 (or as close as possible): This will be for the MM girls and boys. It will include the awards for the top 3 and the award of medals for all children who have completed 3 of the 4 races this season. The top 3 will also be announced in the later ceremony.
13:15 (or as close as possible): This will be for all other categories, including individual and team prizes.
Athletes wishing to leave earlier than this may pick up their prizes from the league manager (Luke McNeill), or league treasurer (Marie-Anne Fisher) between the 2 ceremonies.
