Venue for Round 2

24 Nov 2014

Round 2 will be hosted at Oxford Brookes University Harcourt Hill campus: https://www.brookes.ac.uk/studying-at-brookes/student-life/our-campuses/harcourt-hill-campus/. Course maps will be available online before race day.

Parking will be very tight. Everybody; athletes, spectators, officials and marshals; needs to consider how to get there. There will still be a £3 charge per vehicle, with all proceeds going to Helen and Douglas House, at the request of Oxford Brookes.

Alternatives (others may exist):

i. Having a full vehicle
ii. Brookes Bus U1 runs every half-an-hour from the Seacourt Park and Ride to campus (http://brookesbus.oxfordbus.co.uk/timetables/)
iii. The OxfordBus 4A also runs every 30mins, but stops in Elms Rise which is a short walk from the campus (http://city.oxfordbus.co.uk/timetables-fares/city4-A-B#timetable). The walk will involve crossing the course.
iv. Cycling up; there are cycle racks on campus
v. Running or walking up from the car parks in Botley (http://www.whitehorsedc.gov.uk/services-and-advice/transport/car-parks/car-park-locations/botley). This will also involve crossing the course.

In addition to this, every participant in the early races is encouraged to leave as soon as they can afterwards, especially the U9 and U11 in order to vacate spaces for athletes in later races. Similarly, if you do drive and are only there for the senior races please delay arrival for as long as you can.

There will be an indoor shelter for those that are not in a car and are without a tent.
